I put on my matildabishop hat to see what shari had to say about JKR's quote-y thing.

Thought I'd mention too that we are moving to Australia in July.

Looking forward to new adventures but I can only imagine how wrenching it will be to leave after 7 years. Leaving Phoenix? Not a twinge or wibble.

Subject:biopsy
Time:04:05 pm
Just had a biopsy. Not because there was something to be worried about but because there was almost certainly nothing to be worried about. But on the other hand, I was at the women's hospital and in the stirrups already so why don't we just make double sure.

The thing I didn't know about about biopsies was how ouchie they are. Helping my doctor was a nurse who was surely hired because she was absolutely the sweetest nurse ever to graduate from nursing college. She held my hand and we looked into each other's eyes and as the doctor did a PUNCH BIOPSY OUCH I fell in love and wanted to take my nurse home and marry her. I have heard stories about unkind nurses, over-worked or abrupt nurses, bully nurses but I have to say I have always been so lucky when it comes to nurses. One day I will write a love letter to all the nurses I have loved before.

Have you ever noticed this about the word biopsy, that if you rearrange the letters it is BIO SPY? Did every one else know that? Like everyone eventually notices Psycho The Rapist? Just wondering.

Going to London tomorrow, taking the girls to sort their passports, which means we've been here going on five years. *boggles*

Am so excited, afraid I'll forget something, US embassy wants this, wants that, you have to write your dates American style, and my brain does not switch back and forth between that sort of thing easily. For instance, yesterday I drove about a half a block on the wrong side of the road before I remembered. Any hoo if you get down there and don't have every piece right, they'll take your money and send you home with nothing. This is the kind of thing Mr Bishop excels at and I usually screw up.

But going to London anyway, either to succeed or screw up, neither of which will be the end of the world. Thanks, Hull for suggesting a hotel. We've ended up in Marylebone not terribly far from embassy.

I want to take the girls to some theatre. Matilda we can't afford, nor the Lion King. Shrek we can do, and will probably enjoy even if people are farily lukewarm about it. Is there an off-West End, like off-Broadway?

Excited.

Subject:Hotel London?
Time:05:09 pm
Does anyone know of a decent but not too expensive hotel in London? I have to take the kids to get their passports renewed and would like to stay a night or two. We'll be going to the American Embassy early in the morning on a Thurs or Friday in mid-March. I'm sure the area is way expensive but any where we can reasonably go to and from on the tube?

Any ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Republican candidate Rick Santorum - have you googled his name?

This first thing that comes up when you google Santorum, Mr Bishop tells me this is down to Dan Savage.

Subject:Talk to me about Australia?

Last year SoCal was courting Mr Bishop, now it's Australia. Canberra?

What's it like? Mrs Q? BruiseSong? Anybody? The town, cost of living, friendliness? Cost to travel to the east coast of the USA?

Mr Bishop has itchy feet, he's good at what he does, people want him to work for them, he's ambitious. I'm starting to realize I'm only going to be able to keep him in one place for so long. Is Canberra the one place in the world you want to live if you get the chance?

I didn't love Rango, what a disappointment. I understood it was clever, visually cool, etc. but I found the beginning fairly boring and the ending more cliched than cliche-subverting. I did like some bits, the stagecoach/Road Warrior petrol rig/water bottle chase in particular. My 12YO and 8YO companions seemed engaged however. Maybe I was just cranky.

My 12 YO's school sent home a note. They are applying for academy status. Can anyone tell me in a nutshell what this means? Firedancer, are you out there?
